What’s happening Sukkot 2013
It’s never too early to start thinking about the holidays. If you haven’t done it yet, start preparing food for the freezer, make menu and guest lists, and figure out WHAT TO DO WITH THOSE KIDS OVER THE LONG VACATION!!!
Don’t forget the reason they are starting school early- they will be off from Friday, September 13 through Shabbat, September 28!
Fortunately, there are lots of Sukkot events for the whole family to enjoy.

Tamar Festival- 21-25 September
This is the 14th year of this music festival in the Dead Sea area. Featured musicians include Idan Rachel, Ehud Banai and Shalom Chanoch.

Israel-wide Hot Air Balloon Festival- 22-24 September
There will also be the nighttime event GLOW with pyrotechnics and music.
You can camp out in the parks overnight. Maayan Harod does not allow mangalim but will allow gas.

Disney on Ice-20-25 September
Disney on Ice Worlds of Fantasy features the Disney shows Cars, The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, Toy Story 3, Tinkerbell and Brave.

The Aluminum Show- 19, 22, 23, 24 September
A full-force music and dance show using recycled aluminum for stage effects and props.

Paprika Festival in Spicy Way Farm- 19-28 September
Come for a free tour and learn all about paprika from the field to your plate.
Spicy Way Farm is in Beit Lehem HaGlilit.
According to their web site, the spices are kosher under the hashgacha of Rav Zamir- the Rav of Emek Yizrael.
Please confirm kashrut of all products before coming.
Israel Storytelling Festival- 19-27 September
Eight days in Givatayim of the best stories from around the world.
Tickets- 85-110 shekels per show (if purchased online)
Icon Science Fiction and Fantasy Festival- 21-24 September
This festival combines lectures, workshops, games, exhibits and a flea market all dedicated to science fiction in fantasy in the heart of Tel Aviv. For more information, go to their web site.
Tickets- I was unable to find any mention of ticket prices.
Holon Sounds of Childhood Festival – 22 September
This festival aims to expose children to the performing arts with specially made concerts for children. The primary shows are for a fee but there will be outdoor shows as well for free.
Tickets- no prices mentioned yet on the web site.
There are many more festivals but they don’t have definite dates yet. I will update as I get more information.
